We turned on x402 payments in ClawBank only two weeks ago. The results:
200,000+ payments settled. The split is almost perfectly dual-rail: ~109k paid in USDC on Base, ~105k routed as RLUSD on XRPL. The public gateway added another 69k settled invoices from agents paying in RLUSD, no ClawBank account involved.
What people are actually buying
- Users spun up named agents that each poll one thing: Korean exchange prices, Polymarket crypto odds, yield alpha, X digests, trending altcoins. Hundreds of paid calls each, fully autonomous.
- Someone asked Manfred about a token, and he chained 4 or 5 paid services in mere seconds: contract security scan, holder concentration, liquidity pairs, whale transfer check, recent news. Total cost: a few cents. He ran this play for $FOX, $HOODIE, $DOJI, $JUGGERNAUT, and $TENDIES.
- Trending everything. KOL sentiment, tweets about a specific contract address, crypto news ranked by sentiment, perp funding rates, Hyperliquid markets, Polymarket odds, Kalshi markets, and macro data.
- And some genuinely non-crypto stuff. One user searched local contractors and pulled their Google Maps ratings through a paid service. Another pulled SEC EDGAR filings.
My favorite: Manfred used the market to research $CLAWBANK. Mintability scan, top holders, LP trace. Then he went looking for Coinbase's contact channels to ask about a listing. Unprompted.
The open buffet
x402 is just an implementation detail. The thing it unlocks is an agent with a wallet standing in front of an open buffet, grabbing exactly what the moment calls for and paying pennies for it.
The agentic economy is going to be wild. ClawBank.co is positioning to be at its very center for years to come.
There's a lot more to share. Stay tuned.
